Last updated: 9 October 2026

TheMoneySpace101 (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use themoneyspace101.com and our learning portal at learn.themoneyspace101.com (together, the “Platform”), in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

TheMoneySpace101 is a financial education platform based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at any time at info@themoneyspace101.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us, for example when you:

  • send us a message through our contact form (your name, email address, subject and message);
  • create an account or register for a course, masterclass or membership (your name, username, email address and password, which is stored in encrypted form);
  • take part in our community, masterclasses or workshops (anything you choose to share).

Learning information, such as the courses you are enrolled in, your progress and your quiz or assessment results on our learning portal.

Technical information collected automatically when you use the Platform, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. This is recorded in server logs and through cookies (see section 5).

If you buy a product or service from us, your payment is processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiries and requests;
  • create and manage your account;
  • deliver our courses, masterclasses, workshops and community;
  • send you information about our services that you have asked for or that relates to services you already use;
  • improve the Platform and our content;
  • keep the Platform secure and prevent fraud and abuse; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

We will only send you direct marketing if you have agreed to receive it, or if you are an existing customer and it relates to similar services, as POPIA allows. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our messages or by emailing us.

4. Our grounds for processing

We process personal information where you have given your consent, where it is necessary to provide a service you have asked for, where it is in our legitimate interests (for example, keeping the Platform secure), or where the law requires it.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use essential cookies to keep you logged in, keep the Platform secure and remember items in your cart, and preference cookies to remember your settings. We do not currently use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Platform may not work properly without essential cookies.

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with:

  • service providers who help us run the Platform, such as hosting, email delivery and payment processing providers. They may only use your information to provide their services to us and must keep it secure and confidential;
  • law enforcement or other authorities, where the law requires us to.

Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers when you visit some pages.

7. Information sent outside South Africa

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside South Africa. When this happens, we make sure it is protected as required by section 72 of POPIA, for example because the recipient is subject to laws or agreements that provide an adequate level of protection.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or for as long as the law requires. After that, we delete it or make sure it can no longer identify you.

9. How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and regular backups. No system is completely secure, but if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.

10. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct or update your information;
  • ask us to delete your information, where we are not legally required to keep it;
  • object to us processing your information;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent;

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@themoneyspace101.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on your request.
